Herbal Infusions
Also known as “Tisanes” or "Herbal Teas". The word "tisane" is derived from the Greek, via the Latin "ptisana". Tisanes are made from pieces of dried fruit, flowers, herbs, spices, and berries. They look and smell a lot like a potpourri. They have a full-bodied flavor--and are caffeine free. They taste great hot or as an iced tea. There are no preservatives, chemicals or sugars added which make them ideal for children having "their" tea party. Many contain the hibiscus flower, which provide the lovely reddish color. For those seeking a caffeine-free alternative to Tea, consider Rooibos, a South African plant with a flavor and body similar to tea, which also has the added benefit of being loaded with anti-oxidants!
